Beijing-based Moonshot AI released Kimi K3.1 Pro on October 24, a 3-trillion-parameter open-source model with a 1-million-token context window that remains the world's largest open-source model by parameter count. A post-training version of Kimi K3, it poured far more compute into reinforcement learning, lifting coding, 3D creation, financial research and long-horizon agent abilities to or near the strongest closed models, scoring 65.7% on Terminal-Bench 4.0 above GPT-6 Astra. Full weights open by November 4. Priced at about a fifth of GPT-6 Astra, it lowers the barrier for SMEs and researchers, embodying Beijing's push to build an AI innovation hub.
