XPeng has obtained Guangzhou's intelligent-connected-vehicle demonstration operating qualification, allowing citywide L4 Robotaxi demonstration operation, the Daily AI Brief reported. The approval moves XPeng's Robotaxi from technology validation toward operating and business-model validation, a milestone it calls key to physical-AI commercialization. Its Robotaxi brand is named 'XPeng YOYO' and will open gradually via invite codes to test vehicle dispatch, passenger service and safety management. Relying on its self-developed Turing AI chip and second-generation VLA large model, XPeng is extending its smart-car tech and mass-production capability into the Robotaxi race.
