Beijing has kept its consumer trade-in program running and is orderly steering the city toward 'gas-to-electric' vehicle replacement, with the policy having driven more than 140 billion yuan in trade-in sales, the municipal development and reform commission said. As of end-September, Beijing's new-energy-vehicle stock surpassed 1.53 million units. The city is guiding purchases toward top-tier energy- and water-efficiency products while promoting NEV adoption, a shift that analysts say supports local dealers and model fit and feeds charging, battery-swap and recycling chains as the capital decarbonizes transport.
