Wuzhen Summit Opens With First Open-Source Pavilion; Report Says Top Six Global Models by Calls Are All Chinese Teams

The 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit opened November 3 in Tongxiang, Zhejiang under the theme "Open Source and Openness, Co-Build and Share," with open source placed at the very center of the agenda. For the first time a dedicated open-source themed experience pavilion debuted, letting visitors touch live interactions from Kimi, Zhipu and Ant Group's open AGI and LingBot embodied-intelligence models, plus robots writing calligraphy. A report cited at the summit said the top six models on global mainstream large-model call rankings are all from Chinese teams, and that cumulative downloads of China's open-source AI models have surpassed 10 billion. Alibaba's Joe Tsai noted Qwen has open-sourced over 470 models with more than 4 billion downloads and 330,000 derived models, while DeepSeek engineer Gao Xi argued that open-sourcing research accelerates the arrival of AGI. The Cyberspace Administration said China will further build its open-source system and deepen international cooperation.
