Volkswagen Group China and Li Auto both issued statements on November 5 warning car owners about fraudulent text messages claiming vehicle "airbag recalls." The messages, sent by unknown parties impersonating the companies or regulators, urged owners to complete procedures via suspicious links within two hours or lose warranty coverage. Both firms stressed the recalls are fabricated, the links are not official, and urged owners not to click, reply or disclose personal or vehicle information, highlighting rising phishing risks as connected-car ownership grows.
