Yiwu Market Opens Largest One-Stop Trade Complex in Tanzania, Extending Brand-Going-Global Plan
The Yiwu Market Tanzania branch market was inaugurated at the East Africa Trade and Logistics Center in Dar es Salaam, becoming the largest one-stop trade complex in Tanzania, Global Net reported via Toutiao on October 14. Built by Zhejiang China Small Commodity City Group International and Weihai Huatan, the project covers about 75,000 square meters with 2,060 standard shops and 1,000 dedicated parking spaces, offering one-stop government services including customs and tax. Sitting in Dar es Salaam, East Africa's core commercial hub, it radiates across Tanzania and neighboring countries, building a stable, efficient bridge for China-Africa small-commodity flows: giving Yiwu merchants an overseas physical showroom and East African buyers source-priced Yiwu goods. The complex will pair showrooms with an overseas warehouse under a "market-warehouse-hall" integrated model and strengthen links with the Yiwu market. It is the latest step in the "Yiwu China Small Commodity City" brand-going-global plan launched in September 2023; to date 92 such projects have been laid out worldwide, with 6 overseas branch markets landed across 38 countries and regions including Germany, Czechia, Brazil and Indonesia, serving 5,500 merchants.
