Shandong Shows How AI Reshapes Manufacturing: Model Factory Serves 300 Clients, 726 Pioneer Projects Funded

At the 2026 AI Industry Conference, Shandong showcased how AI is moving from custom development to batch delivery in manufacturing, People's Daily reported on October 20. Inside Inspur's Hairuo Word-Yuan factory, enterprises submit industry data that, after security review, cleaning and labeling, is trained, packaged and adapted to software and hardware for out-of-the-box models; since early 2025 the line has served over 300 clients nationwide and deployed nearly 1,000 agents, compressing what used to take months into a "data in, model out" industrial process. Shandong issued 100 "AI + Manufacturing" scenario demands across chemicals, steel and textiles, with 13 pioneer regions and 726 first-batch pioneer projects in 2026 totaling 116.58 billion yuan of investment and an estimated over 17 billion yuan of added annual revenue. The province's AI core-industry revenue reached 128.93 billion yuan in 2025, up 39.2%, gathering 1,124 key enterprises in models, agents, compute and data, while 35 manufacturing corpus "lead-the-list" projects and 22 provincial intelligent-compute cloud centers underpin the ecosystem.
