Smart Products Become Yiwu's New Foreign-Trade Growth Driver as U.S. Buyers Add Orders After Tariff Cuts
CCTV reported on October 21 that Yiwu, the world's largest Christmas-goods sourcing hub serving 170-plus countries with over 20,000 categories, is seeing late-season overseas re-orders. After China and the U.S. reached a 30-billion-USD reciprocal tariff-cut understanding in late September, American buyers' purchasing appetite recovered and add-on orders kept coming; merchants report AI Christmas trees, AI Santas, voice-recording cards, bionic butterflies and dancing robots becoming new growth points. Yiwu customs data showed January-August foreign-trade exports of 548.85 billion yuan, up 12.8%, with Christmas-goods exports to Latin America, the EU and ASEAN at 3.23 billion yuan, 67.9% of the total.
