2026 Yiwu Trade Conference Closes, Spotlighting AI as Engine of Cross-Border Commerce
The 2026 Yiwu Trade Conference closed on October 23 after showcasing the city's commercial resilience and its AI-driven trade transformation. In the first half of 2026 Yiwu's economic growth led all 17 county-level cities in Zhejiang province. The conference's first 'World Yiwu' commerce-AI innovation contest yielded 33 practical AI templates spanning selection, design, marketing, translation, customer acquisition, service and data decisions, signaling that AI is deeply rooted in Yiwu's trading ecosystem. Market vendors reported turning Chinese-language videos into 36 languages and cutting product-video production from half an hour to minutes with AI tools. Experts noted Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Latin America and Africa are growing at double-digit rates, and the conference released a research report on Yiwu enterprises' expansion into Latin America.
