DeepSeek and MiniMax Complete AI Model Overseas-Registration, Clearing Compliance Path
On October 22, CCTV-affiliated outlet Yuyuan Tantian reported that leading Chinese AI firms DeepSeek and MiniMax have completed registration procedures that open a compliant path for their open-source model releases and overseas authorization. The report said overseas users expect more Chinese open-source models to follow, and a clear, predictable compliance channel helps stabilize global confidence in Chinese models going abroad. Analysts said the core value of the registration is turning compliance uncertainty into certainty: while sensitive technologies are strictly controlled, general open-source models are released in an orderly way, further clarifying regulatory boundaries and providing a replicable template for the industry after export-control draft rules left some overseas clients waiting on the sidelines.
