iFlytek's Liu Qingfeng: Keep Innovating on an Autonomous, Secure Tech Base
In a People's Daily "Tech Talk" on November 2, iFlytek chairman Liu Qingfeng argued that as AI moves from answering questions to executing tasks, it must rest on an autonomous, secure and trusted tech base. Autonomy, he said, is about mastering chips, frameworks, models and applications so large models can be trained, run stably and iterated fast on domestic compute - China has already achieved full-link training and inference on homegrown AI chips. Security and trust must be built into product design and business flows: which data can be called, which operations need confirmation, which judgments need human review, and how to trace errors. He cited iFlytek's medical assistant covering more than 800 districts and counties, aiding but not replacing doctors with evidence-based prompts, and said only by crossing cost, scenario and ecosystem thresholds can AI's value scale across industries.
