People's Daily Overseas: 'China Computes, and It Works' on the Global Stage
The People's Daily Overseas Edition wrote on November 2 that China's compute power is going global through cooperation rather than enclosure. It noted The Economist's praise of China's "six networks" - compute, water and new power grids together give computing clusters power, water and data links, with clusters in return training AI to unlock other networks' potential. Abroad, driverless taxis in eastern Switzerland will run on Chinese tech, and Indonesian airports display China-Indonesia AI model cooperation. Multiple foreign media say compute is a shareable development tool; Kenya's broadcaster noted China's open-source AI lets local talent customize base models for their own language and law without high cost, calling open technology "the perfect antidote to digital colonialism." Uzbekistan's news agency highlighted a Xinjiang compute center serving Central Asia, and U.S. outlets noted Chinese firms aiding Arab-language model startups in Egypt.
