Next-Gen Seal 07 Leads Six-Model Launch Wave on Nov 5 With 875 km Range; Geely's Methanol Hybrid Goes on Sale at 76,800 Yuan

A six-model launch wave is set for November 5 led by BYD's next-generation Seal 07, a redesigned sedan whose pure-electric version reaches 775 to 875 km CLTC on 76.7 or 88.7 kWh second-generation Blade batteries, paired with Yunni-M intelligent magnetorheological suspension and a roof-mounted LiDAR. Joining it are the smart Elf #2 Premium, the 2027 Lynk 08 EM-P, the IM LS8 NEO, a refreshed Toyota Avalon, and a Range Rover Westminster edition. On November 3, Geely's Galaxy Xingyao 6 E-fuel - the world's first methanol-electric hybrid family sedan - went on sale at a limited-time price from 76,800 yuan, about 3,000 yuan below its presale, with up to 1,880 km combined range and a claimed per-kilometer methanol cost of roughly 0.2 yuan. Meanwhile, BYD's October pure-electric sales crossed 300,000 units for the first time, up 37%, and the China Passenger Car Association's October 1-25 scan showed a 65.7% NEV retail penetration. Analysts said the year-end price war is shifting from range to energy routes and chassis quality.
