At an October 19 State Council Information Office briefing on the first three quarters, officials said China's NEV domestic retail penetration stayed above 60% for six consecutive months, with NEV passenger-car retail surpassing 7.7 million units in the first nine months. The figures underline NEVs' shift from niche to mainstream family choice and their role as a benchmark of green, new-quality productive forces. Upstream, lithium-ion battery output for industrial use rose 39.5% and auto-use Li-ion battery output stayed high, while high-tech manufacturing value added grew 14.3%, with NEVs and batteries among the key drivers.
