CATL Posts 64.53 Billion Yuan Q1-Q3 Net Profit as EU Ends Solar-Glass Duties and Lithium Shares Surge
The European Union formally abolished its anti-dumping and countervailing duties on Chinese solar glass, significantly lowering photovoltaic export barriers. Latest earnings show Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL) posted 64.53 billion yuan in attributable net profit for the first three quarters, up 31.6% year on year, while EVE Energy's net profit jumped 86.1%, Ganfeng Lithium surged nearly 196 times, and several materials firms posted multi-fold growth. Analysts noted NEV penetration keeps climbing, with October narrow-sense passenger-car NEV retail estimated at 1.07 million and 66.9% penetration, supporting midstream earnings repair. With battery-grade lithium carbonate spot prices falling below 100,000 yuan per ton, research reports argued policy tailwinds and better-than-expected profits could drive a sector valuation recovery.
