Chinese NEV Commercial Vehicles Speed Up Overseas Push With Local Manufacturing
People's Daily Online reported on November 1 that China's new-energy commercial-vehicle exports kept growing as companies moved beyond vehicle exports toward local manufacturing, delivery and operations. CAAM data showed China exported 1.039 million commercial vehicles in the first nine months, up 38.8% year on year, including 93,000 NEV commercial vehicles, up 45.5%. With the EU requiring new heavy-duty vehicle CO2 emissions to fall 45% by 2030 and 90% by 2040, and zero-emission truck share needing to reach about 35% from just 4.8% in the first half, analysts see a clear market gap. Sobo Technology's eTopas 600 pure-electric tractor, aimed at Europe, rolled off the line at the Steyr Automotive plant in Austria in July and began customer delivery, entering Germany, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic; the firm also signed an MoU with DHL to explore intelligent and automated trucking.
