Wuzhen Commentary: Riding the 'Digital' Tide as Intelligent Internet Moves From Concept to Tangible Reality
The 2026 World Internet Conference Wuzhen summit, themed "Open Source and Openness, Co-Build and Share," opened November 2-5, with a People's Tribune commentary on November 3 saying it clearly charts the generational shift of the internet. The "intelligent internet" moved from concept to something tangible: Zhongxing's 6G prototype and satellite base stations reinforced space-air-ground-sea networking; Alibaba and Huawei brought flagship models and super-nodes; and clusters of embodied robots pushed interaction from "humans adapting to machines" toward "machines adapting to humans." In daily life, a robot smart pharmacy ran an autonomous medicine loop and "tech-for-warmth" events let the elderly and disabled try brain-computer interfaces and exoskeleton rehab robots. The commentary stressed that only by breaking technical barriers through open source and guarding the bottom line through co-governance can the global digital ecosystem stay healthy, turning the community-with-a-shared-future vision into concrete practice.
