CATL Launches Tianshang II 'Electric-Electric Range-Extended' Heavy-Truck Solution, Signs 13,000 Units at Launch
On October 20 CATL launched its heavy-truck ecosystem solution, the Tianshang II 'electric-electric range-extended' version, built on its battery-swap system by splitting the underbody swap system into two independent, complementary battery systems, breaking the boundaries of a single system for all-round gains in performance, efficiency and flexibility. The version entered mass production at launch with a first batch of 13,000 units signed. CATL also released the Qijian battery-swap ecosystem, new lease policies and two partnership models with 14 partners. CTO Gao Huan said the plan is 900 swap stations by year-end, 2,000 next year and a long-term target of 10,000, making electric heavy trucks China's mainstream trunk-logistics choice.
