Guangzhou Xinsha Port Ships Record New-Energy Vehicles as 'Going Global' Accelerates
On the evening of October 24, the vessel 'Siem Curie' departed Guangzhou Xinsha Port for Australia carrying more than 2,300 Chinese new-energy vehicles, mainly BYD and Geely models, under maritime authority escort. As South China's largest vehicle import-export port, Xinsha has seen robust export growth this year, with 180,000 complete vehicles shipped in January-October, up about 234% year on year, and full-year exports expected to exceed 220,000 units. The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said China's auto exports will top 10 million units in 2026, with NEVs becoming a key engine of export growth. Authorities said they will keep innovating services to turn Xinsha into a primary export gateway for Chinese cars and cultivate new foreign-trade advantages.
