Chinese Brands Deepen Global Push at Paris Motor Show With Europe-Local R&D and Production
At the Paris Motor Show, Chinese brands moved beyond single-model exports to showcase system-level capabilities: GAC debuted its global service brand GAC CARE+ in Europe and the AION UT Cross made its world premiere; Leapmotor's A05 completed its European debut; Xpeng's G9L launched globally with NGP public trials in Europe; Geely showed the Monjaro EM-i and Lynk 07 GT; Changan's Avatr T09 premiered; and BYD's ATTO 8 became its first Europe-bound model with a second-generation blade battery. Beyond the show, GAC plans a European R&D center by 2027 with a 100-plus local engineer team, Geely merged its Sweden and Germany R&D into Geely Tech Europe, and Leapmotor's B10 has rolled off the line at Stellantis's Zaragoza plant in Spain. European visitors' recognition is shifting from price and configuration to workmanship, quality, safety and durability, with one French owner of a Chinese-made MG5 reporting 94% battery capacity retained after 125,000 km.
