Yiwu's First-Half Export Exceeds 420.7 Billion Yuan for First Time as Christmas Goods Hold 80% of Global Market
The Paper reports that in the first half of 2026 Yiwu's export value reached 420.7 billion yuan, surpassing 400 billion for the first time in a comparable period, as the borderless county-level market thrives amid global volatility. Its International Trade City draws about 300,000 visitors a day, with more than 1,000 new products debuting daily and over 38,000 resident foreign merchants and 680,000 overseas buyers trading routinely. At peak season the city ships Christmas supplies, New Year prints and festival products worldwide, with Yiwu's Christmas goods holding nearly 80% of the global market share. Young merchants are stocking next-season designs into livestream rooms as festival orders pour in.
