DiffuSphere Open-Sources Clover-35B Diffusion LLM, Claims 5-10x Speed Over Autoregressive Peers
Shenzhen-based DiffuSphere (DiffuSpace) released and open-sourced Clover-35B-A3B-Preview on Oct 28, a diffusion large language model using a Mixture-of-Experts design with 35 billion total and 3 billion active parameters. The team says it beats peer Mercury 2.5 and the same-size autoregressive Qwen3.6-35B-A3B on agent coding, with generation speeds 5 to 10 times faster in some scenarios by generating wholesale then refining, versus token-by-token writing. The company also previewed a decision model for fast structured judgments. DiffuSphere, founded in March by a Hong Kong University NLP team, closed two funding rounds totaling several hundred million yuan with Huawei and Shunwei Capital reinvesting, as diffusion LLMs heat up with Google, Ant and Inception also in the field.
