Chery Unveils 11 Core Tech Clusters at Global Innovation Conference as Anhui Leads China in Four Auto Metrics
At the 2026 Chery Global Innovation Conference in Wuhu, Anhui province, under the theme "Change," the automaker unveiled 11 major core-technology clusters including the Ziwei series of automotive-grade chips and the CheryMind vertical large model, signaling a deep push into innovation. The conference reflects how Chinese carmakers are moving from rapid electrification to a value-based competition built on technology, quality and experience. Anhui, where the event was held, has become a vivid sample of industrial upgrading: in the first half of 2026 it ranked first nationwide in four metrics - total vehicle output, NEV output, vehicle exports and export value - becoming the first province to surpass one million units of auto exports in a half-year. Around Hefei and Wuhu, a "dual-core" industrial cluster led by Chery, JAC and NIO is taking shape, with more than 3,000 above-scale parts suppliers. Chery chairman Yin Tongyue said the company is decisively using AI to restructure its own genes, aiming to become an AI-driven intelligent technology firm.
