Nearly 700 Hongqi Vehicles Delivered as Official Fleet for 2026 APEC, Marking Smart NEV Era for State Protocol Cars
Hongqi has delivered nearly 700 official vehicles to the organizing committee of the 2026 APEC meeting in Shenzhen, marking the first time a national-level protocol fleet has entered service as a complete formation of new-energy and intelligent models. Compared with the Beijing APEC meeting twelve years ago, when traditional fuel-powered limousines dominated, this shift reflects how far China's auto industry has advanced in electrification and intelligence. The delivered lineup includes the new Hongqi H9, the HQ9, the TianGong series and the Jinkuihua Guoyue, covering sedans, SUVs and MPVs. Many flagship models carry top-tier domestic ICT features such as Huawei Qiankun intelligent driving and the Harmony cockpit, with battery-safety architectures and multi-redundancy protection exceeding national standards. Analysts said the large-scale deployment at a top-tier international economic forum shows Chinese intelligent manufacturing now has the ability to define industry standards on the highest diplomatic stage.
