New Growth Engines 'Take Systematic Shape' as Q1-Q3 NEV Penetration Hits 53.6% and Humanoid Robots Take Over 90% of Global Shipments
China's new growth drivers are shifting from "cultivation" to "systematic formation," reshaping the economy, the China Economic Times reported on November 3. Data from the National Development and Reform Commission showed that in the first three quarters humanoid-robot shipments accounted for more than 90% of the global total, NEV penetration reached 53.6%, and cumulative downloads of open-source AI models surpassed 10 billion. The statistics bureau's October data reinforced the trend: while the overall manufacturing PMI eased to 49.3%, high-tech manufacturing and equipment-manufacturing PMIs stayed in expansion at 51.3% and 50.6%. Experts said the new drivers have crossed the tipping point from incremental contribution to paradigm substitution - green and intelligent mobility is no longer an alternative option but is defining the mainstream product form. They urged policy to move from "picking routes" to "building arenas" with stable institutions.
