Aluminum Foil Maker Passes Acceptance for NEV Aluminum Sheet Tech, Achieving Stable Industrial-Scale Production
A project by Chinalco Aluminum Foil (Yunnan) to develop aluminum sheet and strip rolling technology for new-energy vehicles passed expert acceptance on November 2, achieving stable industrial-scale production of the material, the Financial World reported. The breakthrough supports lighter, more efficient bodies and battery enclosures for EVs and underscores how upstream material suppliers are keeping pace with the auto industry's shift from price competition to value competition. The same day, Shandong Yuncheng launched its 2026 NEV rural-promotion campaign, bringing multiple cost-effective models to counties with purchase subsidies and trade-in benefits reaching consumers directly. Market watchers noted that technology iteration and wider adoption, together with overseas expansion, continue to open new growth space for the industry even as domestic competition intensifies.
