Opinion: Safeguarding Data Rights Empowers AI Innovation Under New Quality Productive Forces
An opinion piece in the China Economic Times on November 5 argues that, following the central guidance on developing new quality productive forces, safeguarding data rights is essential to empowering AI innovation. It notes that while China has selected 104 high-quality dataset cases across industry and healthcare, the data-rights guarantee mechanism still needs improvement: rules differ across personal, enterprise and platform data, and contribution recognition, licensing and revenue distribution remain immature. The piece calls for clarifying data-right boundaries, building contribution-recognition and revenue-distribution systems, and promoting privacy computing and trusted data spaces so quality data flows compliantly and efficiently to unleash AI potential.
