Chery to Launch V2G Function in 2027, Plans 20,000 Global Charging Stations by 2029
At the 2026 Chery Global Innovation Conference on October 20, vice president Gu Chunshan said Chery will globally debut its V2G (vehicle-to-grid) function on the Fengyun A9 pure-electric model in the first half of 2027, roll out second-level fast-charge plus V2G stations in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hefei and Wuhu by year-end, and build a global network of 20,000 charging stations by 2029. On October 16 Chery already opened the industry's first large-scale V2G operation station, moving the technology from lab to real use. Wang Wen, secretary general of the charging network committee of the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, said vehicle-grid interaction has become a rigid requirement of building a new power system.
