The ninth China International Import Expo (CIIE) opened on November 5, and Volkswagen Group China announced that seven models from Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche will appear, including four new-energy vehicles and one model making its public debut in China. The lineup highlights how foreign automakers are leaning into electrification to court Chinese consumers even as domestic competition intensifies. The CIIE appearance comes as international brands face mounting pressure from local NEV makers that have eroded traditional market share with smart, software-defined vehicles.
